We stayed in the cheese loft during our stay. The weather was lovely for December, cold but bright. The loft is pleasant whilst not being luxurious, lots of character. There was a bit of a chilly welcome on Friday evening but we got warmed up and were given an extra heater for the rest of our stay. Good shower. Charlie and Elaine were very good hosts and we ate breakfast in their farmhouse kitchen both mornings of our stay which was very nice. The area is beautiful with lots of great walks. We can recommend an Italian called Marcos in Castle Douglas which was great and a delightful tearoom called the Crown and Anchor in Dundrennan.
